RECORD YEAR FOR MACEDONIA’S AIRPORTS


Last year proved to be the busiest on record for Macedonia’s Airports with nearly 1.8 million passengers served. Both airports recorded double digit growth and achieved the best results on record in 2016. Skopje “Alexander the Great” Airport maintained its position as one of the fastest growing airports in Europe and the region with 1.649.376 passengers handled and grew by 13.6% in 2016.



QATAR AIRWAYS TO LAUNCH DIRECT FLIGHT SKOPJE – DOHA STARTING FROM JULY 17TH


Qatar Airways has officially confirmed that starting from July 17th this year it will launch flights on the route Skopje – Doha - Skopje. Qatar Airways is the national and the largest airline of Qatar and offers flights to more than 90 international destinations from its base in Doha.



WIZZ AIR ANNOUNCES NEW FLIGHTS FROM SKOPJE TO MALTA, ROME AND VÄXJÖ


The Hungarian low cost carrier Wizz Air has announced that this summer it will undertake a major expansion of its network from Skopje by introducing flights to 3 new destinations, as well as a significant boost of frequencies on existing flights from Macedonia’s capital. The company confirms that the planned expansion envisages basing a fourth aircraft on “Alexander the Great” airport, thereby making Skopje its largest base after Budapest.
